Are NEET, JEE that important than lives of 26 lakh students?

Besides the hike of cases COVID -19 and floods in India, the Supreme court of India has rejected a petition for postponement of NEET and JEE that are to be conducted in September of 2020.

During the ongoing hike in corona cases, the Supreme court of India, ordered National Testing Agency (NTA), to conduct National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in the upcoming month September with some safety protocols. The Supreme court of India also stated that the precious time of students is not to be wasted and life has to go on among the risk of a pandemic the coronavirus.

NEET, JEE updated examination dates:
The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (main) is conducted between September 1 to September 6. The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted on the 13th of September. And JEE Advance is supposed to be conducted on the 27th of September of 2020.

5 main reasons why JEE, NEET are to be postponed to another month rather than September:

According to the survey conducted through many social platforms and social media, some common and significant reasons are spotted out. These reasons are sorted according to their priority. These reasons will surely push into a pool of disturbances in conducting the JEE and NEET.
There have been the utmost 10,000 reasons which were spotted and filed by the aspirants of JEE and NEET. In those 10,000 reasons, it has been confirmed that almost 8000 reasons are commonly registered. And again from the unique 2000 reasons, there have at least 100 reasons that are to be considered to postpone the JEE, NEET. So, for now, to save your precious time, we have picked 5 most significant reasons that could put a hold to the Supreme Courts' decision.
The 5 main and most common reasons/problems issued by JEE, NEET aspirants all across India are:
1.Transportation: Transportation of JEE, NEET aspirants are sorted out as a primary problem and as well as reason. Due to the lockdown implemented by the Central Government of India, the main mode of transportation via road line using Buses and trains has been put on hold. The transportation of people using public transport such as Buses, Trains is temporarily restricted, in such a situation, the transportation of middle-class aspirants to a 500km far center will be a mission impossible thing. 80% of the students applying for JEE and NEET are surely from poor and middle-class families, then how would the government even think that the transportation of such a huge number aspirants via private transport with restrictions implied, will be a possible task. Hence, one has to consider the problems that will be caused due to a lack of proper public and private transportation. And if in the cause when the aspirant is willing to travel such a long distance, the weather from 10-15 days is not supportive. There have been floods in almost every state of India. And due to the havoc created by the floods, the roads were washed out and the low lying areas have been flooded severely.
2.The threat of coronavirus: The second main problem/reason that is considered is the risk of infection. And it is the main reason behind the entire country's lockdown for a long duration. The government itself called for "Stay home! Stay safe!".
If we consider the scenario of a student coming from a joint family with 15 persons in the family, surely there will be elders who are more than 60 years old, children below 10 years and infants who are just 1-12 months old, what about them? Unknowingly he or she will pull their family into the risk of infection.
. Not only that while traveling, if the aspirant is already infected with the virus, then the chances of communal spread during transportation will be high. So, the chance of getting infected will be considered a main problem and reason to pause the examinations.
3.Asymptomatic victims: Okay, let the government have, safety measures, then the thermal scanners used will not show that the student is infected with coronavirus or not, because, for the time being, the coronavirus has grown symptomless, so if the patient is infected the coronavirus with no symptoms to be showcased then how can he be stopped without spreading the virus. As reported by AIMS that the temperature check of a victim cannot judge that the aspirant is infected or not. So in this case, the victim innocently spreads the virus to the other students who are to attempt the examination and his family members.
4.What about less immune students, who are suffering from respiratory problems: Out of approximately 26 lakh students appearing for JEE and NEET, there will be 10 lakh students who are less immune, what if the virus attacks them in the exam hall. Then the students already with respiratory problems will be suffered seriously.
Here comes the comedy part, sorry this isn't a comedy but the truth if a student with spectacles wears a mask, then due to his breath, the lenses of the spectacles will be covered with a film of mist. So should the aspirant is suggested to clean his lenses rather than attempting the exam.
What about the students, who are not suggested to wear a mask due to their respiratory problems? So think of this for a while.
5.Does SOP work: According to surveys we have found that many states and cities in India have very less number of examination centers. Let us considering Bihar, there are just 2 JEE, NEET examination centers provided with less space. In these 2 centers, it is supposed that approximately 3000-3500 students have to attempt the examination from these centers, then this attempt will include the risk of infection. Many claims that India's Standard Operating Procedure is a failure. Considering this situation, one has to back off to avoid spreading the virus among 26 lakh aspirants.

Safety measures that are to be taken by NEET, JEE aspirants 2020:
Besides the controversy created by the students along with their parents and the devastating COVID-19, the Supreme Court on Monday rejected a request for postponement of NEET and JEE amid the coronavirus.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) circulated safety measures that are to be taken by the aspirants of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) respectively.
The government has created a safety protocol, in this, there are a series of safety measures. The exam day will be categorised into three parts of safety measures.
  1. Pre-exam safety measures.
  2. Examination safety measures.
  3. Post examination safety measures.

So, while conducting the JEE, NEET examination, the government has to understand the problems that are faced by the students who are appearing JEE, NEET in 2020. The decision of postponement or conduction of exams is taken after considering all the problems, pandemic and the ongoing floods, to ensure the comfort of students and less risk of infection appearing for JEE, NEET 2020.
